Big goals require big action. Feeding 9 billion people by 2050 requires helping smallholder farmers who make up 90% of the farmers in emerging economies. We’re partnering with key stakeholders to improve their access to the seeds, crop protection and digital technologies they need to improve their productivity and their livelihoods. Here are some of the strides we’ve already made with our partners this year:
Productivity
250,000 smallholder farmers in Ethiopia increased their productivity by 300%. Approximately 30% of them are women farmers.
Access
30,000 smallholder farmers under AMPATH will now have access to affordable input credit to buy high quality corn seeds and crop protections for the 2019 planting cycle.
